Why the f*ck are you using OnlyFans (or similar platforms)??
It simply doesn’t make any sense. They make a lot of demands on you. They restrict you in many ways. They take a large part of your hard-earned revenue.
Why are you letting them?
It’s not like they do very much to help you gain success or revenue. You do all the work promoting yourself, leading the customers to your profile, and they do… what exactly?
Sure, they handle your payment system. Cool, but CCBill, Segpay and others can do the same for you if you lead your customers to your own website. They charge far less and do not restrict what you can and cannot do in your videos or pictures.
What exactly are the positives the platforms bring to your table?
From my perspective they do more harm than good. They certainly do not add value to your business!
In fact, they take away value from your content!
Your content is the only value you create for your business, but when you upload your content to one of the platforms you actually give them rights to use your content. The content is no longer solely yours but is shared with the platform. OnlyFans, as an example, explains this in their Terms of Service in 15 b and 15 c.
They can, according to the agreement you ‘sign’ when uploading to their platform, ‘reproduce, make available or display to the public, distribute, create derivative works, and otherwise use your Content’. The license you grant them is perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, assignable, and transferable by the platform!
You. No. Longer. Own. Your. Content.
Oh, and that goes for any and all videos, pictures and words you publish in their platform.
